Nominations for honorary degrees are accepted on an ongoing basis throughout the year. The submission deadline for a nomination to be considered for convocation ceremonies in any given year is September 30 of the previous year.

Normally paper submissions are also accepted; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and delays in mail service and access, they are not being accepted at this time except in extraordinary circumstances.
All information submitted on behalf of the nominee will be kept confidential.
Please provide the following information, where applicable, regarding your nominee. Nominators are invited to supply as much information as is relevant and available. However, partial information is also welcome.
Note that you cannot save the information in this form. We advise you to have all necessary information ready when you begin.
The first page asks for information about you, the nominator, including your contact information and relationship to UBC. The second page is where you will inform us about the nominee and why you think they should receive an honorary degree.
The final page of the application allows you to upload documents in support of your nomination. Your nomination may include up to five (5) letters of support from distinguished referees. A full curriculum vitae and/or biographical sketch is also recommended to be submitted if available. Up to ten (10) supporting files can be uploaded in .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf format. All information submitted on behalf of the nominee will be kept confidential.
